Hello!

        I have this Cisco 5500 with the following:

snmpwalk 130.172.80.8 public ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName

ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.1 = sc0
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.2 = sl0
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.3 = 1/1
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.4 = 1/2
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.29 = 3/1
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.30 = 3/2
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.31 = 3/3
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.32 = 3/4
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.33 = 3/5
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.34 = 3/6
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.35 = 3/7
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.36 = 3/8
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.37 = 3/9
..
..
..
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.72 = 4/20
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.73 = 4/21
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.74 = 4/22
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.75 = 4/23
ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifName.76 = 4/24

Notice how it breaks after number 4 and number 29.

I inserted this:

target 130.172.80.8
        short-desc = "A2-001-1s"
        inst=(1..4,29..76)

in the file:

/home/cricket/cricket-config/switch-ports/switches

In the web page only these instances are displayed (1-4 and 29-76), but it seems
that the collector tries to collect all of them!!, so it keeps sending email
complaining about this situation:

I have some other switches with the same problem, any ideas??

Also if you have some other ideas about monitoring Cisco 5500 I will gladly
take them :)

Greetings, and thanks in advance.
