I don't understand what you mean here. When Cricket gets a value (from
the EXEC ds-source, say) it will not truncate it. The value gets put
straight into RRD. I don't believe you can fetch floats from SNMP
devices (unless they are encoded as strings). That's why Cricket does
not fetch floats using SNMP.

Can you explain your question a bit more?
