Eric,
I just had that problem. The Node.pm file is looking for
~cricket/config-tree. If you don't have the config-tree installed
in the top level directory of a cricket user, you need to use
the -base argument to compile:
../compile -base fullpath-to-config-tree
I had to use:
../compile -base /home/redder/cricket-0.68/config-tree
