[cricket-users] what does Gauge do?

I solved the modem problem - typo in rrd-ds-type, I had it
as rr-ds-type.

But I still have problem with numbering. It appears that the
system is averaging things - it sees 27 modems then 5 minutes later
31, and thinks "aha! 4 modems in 5 minutes, that's 0 per sec" or
something...

so although my logs show I'm getting numbers like 14, 28, 31, 12
the graphs are showing 0 or 0.1

So I think it is averaging, I don't want it to do that! I just want
it to graph the numbers it is getting.
What info do I give it to get it to do that?
