I had previously found snmptranslate, but wasn't able to get it
to do anything useful for me. I just tried it again, and still no
luck. For example:
$ snmptranslate -f -R
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.loadaveLoad.1
Produces the following output:
Unknown object identifier: enterprises
While walking the whole portion of the subtree gives me:
$ snmpwalk -v 1 host.doma.in community .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laIndex.1 = 1
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laIndex.2 = 2
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laIndex.3 = 3
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laNames.1 = "Load-1"
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laNames.2 = "Load-5"
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laNames.3 = "Load-15"
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoad.1 = "1.50" Hex:
31 2E 35 30
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoad.2 = "1.44" Hex:
31 2E 34 34
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoad.3 = "1.54" Hex:
31 2E 35 34
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laConfig.1 = "5.00"
Hex: 35 2E 30 30
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laConfig.2 = "4.00"
Hex: 34 2E 30 30
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laConfig.3 = "2.00"
Hex: 32 2E 30 30
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadInt.1 = 150
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadInt.2 = 144
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadInt.3 = 153
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadFloat.1 = OPAQUE:
9F 78 04 3F C0 A0 00
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadFloat.2 = OPAQUE:
9F 78 04 3F B8 A0 00
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laLoadFloat.3 = OPAQUE:
9F 78 04 3F C5 00 00
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrorFlag.1 = 0
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrorFlag.2 = 0
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrorFlag.3 = 0
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrMessage.1 = ""
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrMessage.2 = ""
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry.laErrMessage.3 = ""
The problem is that I know what
enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry translates into
(.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10). What I don't know is what laLoad translates
into, so that I can stick the appropriate number between
".1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10" and ".1" for the one-minute load average.
Browsing even more of the MIB, I get:
enterprises.ucdavis.mibRegistryTable.mrEntry.mrIndex.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021
..10.1 = OID
: enterprises.ucdavis.loadTable.laEntry
But this doesn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I'm
still missing the numbers that correspond to "laIndex", "laNames",
"laLoad", etc....
