From: dusteur@excite.com
hi,
I am setting up threshold monitors for some router interfaces, in which I
want to trigger an alarm if the traffic exceeds say 80% of the available bandwidth.
Is there any way of doing this with cricket as it stands (rather than having to
specify a hard-coded value for every interface), or has anyone else done it?
Also, when is the next update of cricket due?
Are there plans for this sort of enhancement in the next update?
I read somewhere that there are plans to create a sophisticated monitor system
for cricket. Will this be available soon or is it a long term goal?
I can write my own extension to cricket to do some monitoring, but if anyone else
already has, or if there are plans to do this in an imminent release then I'd
rather not move away from the standard code-base too much.....
I realise most of my questions are aimed at Jeff rather than the world at large,
but I'm sure this is a topic lots of people are interested in.
I notice it has been discussed before, but that there seemed to be no concrete
conclusions reached, and I'm sure someone else must have written code for this
by now.
Thanks,
Ryan Duffy.
