The key to this is having the source of that data - eg an agent running on
the servers that will produce the answer when correctly queried.
Many people report success with the CMU SNMP agent - once configured to
watch specific filesystems it will report the disk usage to you: there
are some sample cricket configurations for that in the mailing list
archives (middle of november, I think).
Deducing the OIDs can be done in many ways, from understanding how to
read a MIB file and doing it by hand, to using a MIB file browser that
lets you find the item you're interested in and read off the OID. I tend
to use a combination of the MIB file and snmpwalk/snmptranslate.
(but there's even a shareware Windows-based one out there if you prefer
that sort of thing.)
