Are you trying to access a 2900 or a Catalyst 2900XL? There's a huge
difference in these switches. The straight 2900 (I used a 2926) switches
are lower end models of the Catalyst 5500 and now 6500 series. They have
different (read, "weird") OSes that do not conform to Cisco's IOS specs.

The Catalyst 2900XL switches (we use 2924XL primarily) use a Cisco standard
IOS operating system.

These two switches are similiar in name only. They are based on completely
different hardware models, have completely different OSes, and completely
Different MIBS. The 2900 MIB on CCO is for the brown Cat 2900 (5500-alike)
switches only. The only MIB I've ever found for the XL series (which now
includes the 3500 series) is the woefully out of date CISCO-STACK (or
something like that) MIB.

As far as I've been able to tell, the 2900XL series does not have any
Bandwidth (backplane utilization) measurements since the switch doesn't have
a backplane in the 2900/5500/6500 sense.

HTH,
