Ok, you Apache experts out there, I have been getting my ass kicked all day
when I am trying to install apache with mod_perl. It seems with the redhat
6.0 rpm of apache everything works fine. When I go to compile, some of the
appropiate file are created that are in the rpm but not all of them. Also,
when I go to run this new compiled httpd(same version with mod_perl) it says
it cannot process LoadModule using my old config. Ahhhhh!!

It seems redhat6.0 has config files under /etc/httpd, modules under
/usr/lib/apache, some executable under /usr/sbin, and others under /usr/bin.

However, the new compiled version wants to put everything under
/usr/local/apache, quite a bit different than the redhat rpm. I have tryed
copying files and merging everything under one directory under
/usr/local/apache. However, I still get the LoadModule error.

I have compiled using the normal INSTALL method and the INSTALL.apaci method
that are listed under mod_perl. Neither seems to do the trick.

Has anybody gotten this to work, if so, what order did you install it in,
what method, to what directories, etc......

Using the httpd -l option, I notice that I have a bunch of new modules
installed using either compile method, so they are there, but they just have
problems reading the config, probably related to some directory structure I
don't have, due to differences between rpm and compiled version.

Help, please, before I pull my hair out!!!!
