I'm getting confused with instance mapping and hardmapping OIDs.
Here's the deal:
I have a router that has two physical T1 connections, but listInterfaces
only has one virtual mapping, which aggregates the two T1s. I want to be
able to look at them individually.
I have 4 OIDs, 2 for each T1 (rx and tx). Actually, they're two OIDs
really, which have two instances (1.21 and 1.22) at the end.
The file /router-interfaces/Defaults has inst = map(interface-name) set,
but since the individual T1s do not have separate interface names, I need
to hardmap the OIDs. The interfaces file sits deeper in the config tree
(/router-interfaces/myrouter/interfaces).
What is the best way to implement a config that allows me to monitor the
T1s separately as well as have the aggregate? I've tried but cannot get
things to work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Utsav
